Summer is coming to a close today and it is bittersweet. I love summer and everything that comes with it: beaches, swimming, visiting the cabin and all the garden-fresh produce. Now that the weather is changing and school is starting I get excited for fall to begin. Some of my favorite things about fall? Sweaters, leggings, heavy blankets and everything cozy.
I have decided to start up this blog with a series titled "Back to School Style on a Budget." I buy most of my clothes second hand or on clearance and I always score. It is completely possible to have a wardrobe that you love without spending a fortune.
Today's featured outfit is one of my favorite new outfits for this fall. I went out of town on a day trip and visited Value Village on a day that coincidentally had all clothes marked 50% off! The dress today is from Value Village, the "VV Boutique".
Outfit Breakdown:
Dress: QED London - $7.50 with VV discount. The fabric is thick and warm and perfect for fall!
Tights: From a local boutique. These are lined and soft on the inside. If you wear tights often I have found that buying nice tights is a great investment for several years. If I remember correctly the price was originally $30 but it was on sale for $15.
Sweater: I have no idea! It was a hand-me down and the tags were cut off when I got it. The fabric is a light knit and it is perfect for when you want a sweater that compliments the outfit instead of covering it. Cost to me- Free
Shoes: I am wearing basic black ballet flats from Walmart. These are best for when you have classes all day and will not be on your feet much because they are cute but not great for walking in. I use an arch support insert for added comfort. Originally $15, on clearance for $5.
This outfit is great for fall because it keeps you warm and it is comfortable ( I blame that on the lined tights!). With fall approaching I am keeping my eyes open at second hand stores for sweaters and sweater dresses to wear when the weather starts to get really chilly.
Until next time,
Kyra
